How to turn off automatic defrag?

This a weird problem ,, when i live my pc for few time it starts thrashing the HDD with the following two processess running:

dfrgntfs.exe
defrag.exe

How to disable it can any one tell me ?

When did it start doing it?! Recently?! Or has it done it since you've installed it. If recently, have you added/removed any software which may have triggered something like that to occur? Try loading into Safe Mode and leave the computer idle for 10 mins and see if it does it there as well and let me know.

Click Demare, Run and then type regedit. Then in the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Dfrg \ BootOptimizeFunction. Set N to Enable value and restart your PC.
