Export Outlook Address 2003 to Outlook 2000

    Hello,
I can transfer Outlook 2000 address to Outlook 2003's address book with no problem but I cannot do it vice-versa. Please tell me how to do it. Thanks in advance.

Export PST Outlook 2003 to Outlook 97,2000,2002 (XP)
If you want to export your Outlook 2003 PST to a previous version of Outlook, you might see the following message:
File_name.pst the file is not compatible with this version of the Personal Folders information service. Contact your Administrator. Contact your Administrator.
This is because Outlook 2003 stores information in Unicode. Previous versions only manage the ANSI code. To export your PST in a compatible format using the following method:

    1. Start Outlook 2003
    2. Menu, click Add File -> Data File Management click on Add
    3. Select Files (. Pst) Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders File (PST)
    4. Click OK
    5. Click OK to accept the default name and click OK again. This step creates a PST file in Outlook 2003 compatible.
    6. Click Close
    7. In the Folder List, open the PST file that has just been created.
    8. Copy what you want in this exported PST

Your assumption is incorrect. You can't import a 2003 pst file into earlier versions. This question has been asked several tiimes on this board.

You need to download pfbackup.exe from Microsoft. Install it on your machine that has Office 2003. Run the backup, making the backup compatible with earlier versions of Outlook (It will give you that option.)

Install the program on the machine running Office 2000. Then, open Outlook, select File, Backup, Open backup, and you can then open your 2003 backup pst in Outlook 2000.

    As per Microsoft..

"If your .pst file is the newer format and you want to open the .pst file on a computer by using Microsoft Outlook® 97, Outlook® 2000, or Outlook® 2002, you must import the items in your Outlook 2003 .pst file to the Outlook 97-2002 .pst format file."
