    McAfee reports blocked buffer overflow

Yesterday, when I selected AVI (DivX) without opening it; McAfee reports that it has blocked "a buffer overflow"

I spent AdAware and McAfee, they do nothing!

    What is it?

Do you want to say that you have installed a soft playing divx? A codec pack?

Re: McAfee reports blocked buffer overflow

In the console, McAfee (VirusScan Console), there is an item called "buffer overflow protection". You will get it by right clicking on McAfee and select properties. Configure this protection (enable / disable the protection, define exclusions, choose the level of protection) and also view the reports for errors such protection.

You should be able to find info here (gives an overview of the report if necessary)
