    Openoffice Spell Checker Wont Work

    Hello,
I have an older version of OpenOffice (2. 0 2) but I can not run the spell checker.
please tell me how to run it? Should we download special software?
    Thank you in advance
    Sincerely

Open your document - select all of the text and then Format > Character > then select the language of the new dictionary you installed.

    Or

Go to File > Wizards > Install New Dictionaries

If you can, use the wizard from File -> Wizards -> Install new dictionaries

In my case, that Wizard was not installed, so clicking on it's menu item did nothing. If that is the case for you, you can run the wizard by doing the following:
    1) Download http://ftp.services.openoffice.org/p...ooo/DicOOo.sxw
    2) Run the document with Macro's Enabled (if you run it as root you can install dict's for the whole system, otherwise it will put them in for your user).
    3) Click on your language link shown in the document.
    4) A wizard will appear. For each step, click on "Retrieve List" from the top, select your language, and then click next (you do this about three times for spelling, thesaurus, and hyphenation).
    5) It will download the requested files and install them.

Let me know if you have any problems.
