    OpenOffice window on every boot

    Hello,

    For some time I have a window that appears on my screen each startup.

    How to no longer have?

    If I click on the red X, OK, Cancel, the window disappears, but I do have more at each startup.

    Thank you.

    Start> Run> msconfig> ok> Startup tab

    Ticks and remove anything that does not need to be at startup.
    In fact, you should leave that anti-virus in there .

    I did that already, I have tried each possibility. It does not work.

    You can also stop it by editing one of the configuration files, Setup.xcu.

    Where that file is depends on your Operating System - for Windows XP it is located under the application data directory for OpenOffice.org2

    In other words if my User account under XP is Drew then this file is located at
    c:\Documents and Settings\Drew\Application Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\registry\data\org\OpenOffice\Setup.xcu

    Before you do this make sure that OpenOffice.org is not running - this includes the QuickStarter.

    Now in this file you will find the following lines:

    Code:
    <prop oor:name="FirstStartWizardCompleted" oor:type="xs:boolean">
       <value>false</value>
    </prop>
    Simply change the line <value>false</value> to <value>true</value>, save the file and restart the application. You should not be asked again.

    If you don't want to edit configuration files, you can also try to rename your OOo user profile c:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\OpenOffice.org2. Launch OOo, go through the registration process again, close OOo and start again. Maybe it was a rights issue on the file.
