    System locks while login

I have Windows XP installed on my system and have 2GB of memory. Initially every time I used to boot up Windows it was freezing within few minutes. So I tried number of tweaks (didn't remember which one) and the problem was solved. But now I noticed that my computer locks every time I chose my user name from the list or just login.

Please help me to fix this.

Check your system temperatures and voltages in the BIOS. If you had made any changes than reset it. Also make sure that you have the latest Bios version installed.

Are you sure your computer locks and not freezes? Because I think your problem of freezing is still not fixed and you may need to fix it as soon as possible. Another possible reason could be some hardware failure such as motherboard or ram but not sure exactly what's the case.
