problem installing ActivePerl

Hello,

I am trying to install the Activeperl on my comp but whenever I go to start the installation process I get this error:
"This installation package could not be open contact the application vendor to ensure that this is a valid installer package."

what's wrong?

When the the MSI installation package is corrupted during the download then the user usually get the message.
you just try to download from the following link:
http://downloads.activestate.com/

verify the downloaded file against the MD5SUMS published in each download directory:
http://downloads.activestate.com/Act...ws/5.10/MD5SUM
http://downloads.activestate.com/Act...ows/5.8/MD5SUM
http://downloads.activestate.com/Act...ows/5.6/MD5SUM

Hi BlacknGold,

I also get a comment that the package cannot be opened. I am running Windows XP. Are there settings that need to be changed to open the program?

Hi,

I have seen situations where users on proxy server either on their network or at their ISP will keep getting a broken, cached copy of the file instead of the real file on perl site. Did you generate an md5 string using the file you downloaded and compare it to the MD5SUMS published directory.
