/xf does not accept path with wild card

I cannot get /xf switch to accept a path with wild cards, such as d:\folder\*.xxx. *.xxx works only.
Anyone know anything about this? The description of this switch says it accepts path and wild cards.

Which Operating System are you using?

With Vista, you can use the /XF option with a full path, e.g. /XF C:\dir1\*.doc etc to exclude all files from the root or the top of the directory tree you are copying.
