Today the Norwegian company Opera Software officially launched version 9.6 of its browser. On the menu: several features designed to optimize the communication system embedded in Opera as well as tools for convergence. In 1994 Jon S Von Tetzchner, the current CEO of the firm, and his colleague Geir Ivarsøy, decided to launch an alternative to Mosaic. Nearly 15 years later, Opera is widely appreciated by Web developers to strive to care for web standards regulated by the W3C.
Through a suitable method of use, the manager of e-mail M2 is now optimized for Internet connections at low speeds. For users who have subscribed to the mailing-list, it is now possible to ignore or contacts or conversations. The synchronization tool Opera Link can already save bookmarks, notes, configuring the toolbar. Version 9.6 adds the transfer of CSEs and browsing history. So goes the Opera Desktop Opera Mobile will be almost transparent. The team also implemented a feature preview RSS feeds and performance of the browser have been optimized.
Today, according to a global survey conducted by Market Share, Opera would have a market share of 0.69%, a figure which the CEO Jon S Von Tetzchner stops and that explains the failure to take into account Opera on many systems like Wii or Opera Mini.
Going back to the history of the company and its business model Jon S Von Tetzchner NetEco magazine explains that "for users who have never used Opera, I think this version offers interesting reasons to try it. "He added:" The next innovations Opera will be the most interesting".
