    question wmp subtitles

Hi! I tried to put subtitles to a movie. I installed DirectVobSub, renamed both files like this: moviename and moviename.srt. Also Play/Captions and Subtitles is on but when i play this movie it's not playing at all. Like frozen. Please help!

DVDSanta is supposed to be able to do this.

    http://www.dvdsanta.com/
    # Supports major video formats such as AVI, WMV, ASF, MPG, VOB...
    # Supports major subtitle formats such as SRT, SUB...

Otherwise you can try Subtitle Workshop:

Thank you but I use different method like this ----> http://blog.opensubtitles.org/other/...with-subtitles

Also, I have noticed that when movie's name is "mymovie" and subtitle's file "mymovie.srt" its not playing (screen is black) but when i change movies name to "mymovie.avi" it is playing without subtitles.

I hope someone can help me.

Try to update the player to version.

Are you sure that this movie is original?

    You have to select
Play -> Audio And Subtitles -> On if available

The should appear... if not try right clicking the video and in the submenu select subtitles-> english

If still you can't see the movie i suggest to download a codec pack from http://www.free-codecs.com and i recommend XP Codec Pack, that's the one I'm using right now. This is because you need DirectVobSub, a program that implement subtitles to movies in realtime from another file and is included in the pack, along with lot of other useful codecs

To Expertz ----> I updated my player but nothing changed ... and yes, Im sure movie is original.

To Big Fish ----> (Play -> Audio And Subtitles -> On if available) I had already done this. I said it in first post.

"...if not try right clicking the video and in the submenu select subtitles-> english." Well I'm using wmp and I'm not sure if there is such a submenu. At least I cant find.( )

"...i suggest to download a codec pack from..." I downloaded XP Codec Pack but I can't install it. Error... Here is picture --->

It seems that you have not downloaded the full codec pack as the error states of Extracting. Try to download the codec again.

From what I'd seen online, perhaps XP's Windows Installer is corrupted? XP comes with it already, but I can't figure out why it'd be corrupted after a fresh install.
    Maybe this might work: http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/wininstallnt.html
    I'd try it.
