MS Project 2007 how to save as 98

Can anyone help please. I use Project 2007 but am on a client site where they all use Proj 98. I need to save in 98 format so they can read the proj files when I change them. I have read a manual that says 2007 can save as 98 - but it cant !! By the way they will be upgrading but it is a long way off :-(
All advice gratefully recieved. Thanks in anticipation. Andy.

    well, not quite...

Thanks, but the thread refers to converting 98 into 2007. But this works fine and I can open in that direction. What I need to do is save in a format that can be read by other users with Project 98.
The thread also mentions installing an earlier version, but I don't want to do that on the same PC as my Project 2007 as I can imagine this causing other problems.
    Thanks anyway

According to me you cannot save a project 2007 files in 98 format. There is neither a converter for this over the net nor is the feature in Project 2007. I think only the option left to you and your client is to do up-gradation.

    Naughty This will work...

Probably the fastest way to convert from P2007 down to P98 is to purchase a copy of P2003 standard. I believe it will cost about $146 US.

P2007 will save down to P2003. P2003 will save down to 98.

If you download P2003 SP3 you can open/save P2007 documents directly.

Hope that helps. Better to spend $200 on software that will work than to spend a whole day trying to invent the capability in code.

    Jim
