How to convert OpenOffice doc to excel

Is there a way to convert my table created and opened doc in OpenOffice excel? or do I need to redo everything in excel please? thank you

Just save your table with Calc under ". Xls" to make it usable with excel.

"Save" what?

I opened my OpenOffice file (table) from where I did "save as" but is not giving me the opportunity to register with xls extension I mean I do not know what it means to "save ". Thank you

Take a close look when you do "Save as" in OpenOffice, you can choose "Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP (. xls)" in the drop-down menu instead "ODF (. ods)."
