Software to edit music files?

I want a software to work on music file such as mp3, audio, rm etc. I want to cut some part of the file & use it as a completely new track. Also some mixing kind of thing.
What software you think i must use?

Audacity is pretty simple for normal use!

Soundforge is best for amatual & professional both.
Further you have options like cubase, cakewalk, reason, screenblast etc.
DJ purpose - Adobe Audition, Numark Cue or PCDJ for more advance work!

I like a piece of software called FlexiMusic Wave Editor . It's not free, but you can download a trial edition. It will be quite effective.
