Strange problem, no Task Manager at all

Hello friendz,

I am having a strange problem. Yesterday my pc just hanged for a moment. As anyone would do I tried Ctrl+Alt+Delete to see the Task Manager but nothing happened even after doing the same thing twice or thrice. I finally restarted my pc. But even that couldn't solve the problem.

I think there is a virus but not sure because it was not found by my Norton antivirus software. Anyone experienced this before or want to comment on this.

Is your antivirus software up to date? You should always update your antivirus to avoid most of such errors.

Which OS are you using? On XP Pro,

Go to Group Policy Editor to solve this.

Go to Start -> Run and type gpedit.msc and click OK.
Go to User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options -> Remove Task Manager

Right-click on Remove Task Manager option and go to properties
Under Settings Tab select "Not Configured" or "Disabled".

Thanks southparx, you solved my problem.

It was "Enabled" previously but I corrected it.
