Unexpected Restarts in Windows Server 2003

We have a server which is constantly restarting nearly two/three times a day
and is causing massive problems with backups which is a huge problem as it is
being used as a file server.

The server is running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and the following
    system event log is created:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: EventLog
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 6008
    Date: 6/3/2008
    Time: 9:42:15 AM

    Description:
The previous system shutdown at 9:41:28 AM on 6/3/2008 was unexpected.

    Data: (Bytes)
    0000: d8 07 06 00 02 00 03 00 Ø.......
    0008: 09 00 29 00 1c 00 19 00 ..).....
    0010: d8 07 06 00 02 00 03 00 Ø.......
    0018: 08 00 29 00 1c 00 19 00 ..).....

    Data: (Words)
    0000: 000607d8 00030002 00290009 0019001c
    0010: 000607d8 00030002 00290008 0019001c

We have tried a number of things, such as turning off screen savers,
changing the power supply units and stopping services for our backup software
because we thought that it might be the cause of the problems and nothing has
    resolved the issue.

The server is connected to a UPS and everything else seems to be normal.
There aren't even any event logs (either in Application or System) before or
after, which may suggest where the problems lies. Could anyone point me in
the right direction to resolve this problem as soon as possible please?

    Hello quaium,

Did you changed something in the configuration before? Check the event viewer
for errors and if everything is clear start with checking your hardware.

    Best regards

This started all of a sudden. We haven't changed anything on the server or
added/removed any software. As far as hardware goes we have changed the power
supply but how do we know what else could be the problem as everything seems
    fine in terms of hardware.

There are no more errors in the event viewer.
