    L2TP/IPSEC VPN connection keeps disconnecting

    Hi,

There is a problem with this VPN connnection I have set up. I have done
this loads of times and I have been really happy with it. However, I set it
up on a users home PC and it keeps disconnecting. The Event Log of the RRAS
server says that the disconneciton was user requested. I have checked the
idle time-out and it is not configured to time out. I have configured it to
redial if the connection is dropped but it is not a practical solution,
especially when it drops every 1 to 5 minutes (intermittently).

The connection is configured as a L2TP/IPSec only connection, MSCHAP, login
using windows login. The RRAS server policy allows only users from a
Windows user group access, and this user is in that group.

The user's PC is XP SP2, and the regedit Dword for the IPSec key has been
added and set correctly. The user's internet connection is home broadband
8MBPS, and is behind a NAT'd firewal (basic D-link ADSL router). Other
user's have no problem from their homes, and as there is no real "error"
logged I can't see what is causing it to drop the connection.

Please can someone tell me where to look. It really doesn't make any sense.

    TIA,

    Jarryd

Oh yes, forgot to mention that the PC is wired to the web, not wireless.

    TIA,

    Jarryd
