    RE: Replacing Windows 2000 domain controller with new 2003 server

    Hello HF,

    Thanks for your reply.

    For the further concern, here is some information which may be helpful for
    you.

    Analysis and Suggestion:
    ========================

    Q. If I enable GC and transfer the roles, will there be a problem when I
    change the name and address later on (say in a week or so once I have had
    the time to move DHCP and printing)?

    A: No. That won't be a problem. The DHCP service and printer service should
    not be affected by transferring the GC and 5 FSMO roles. So, you may follow
    my previous post's suggestion to migrate the service to the new DC.

    Hope it helps.

    Would this same scenario work if I replace all references to 2003 server with 2008 server?
