Takes a long time to load desktop on terminal server

Running Windows 2003 on all servers, w/ DC, BDC and separate terminal
servers. All of the sudden it is taking about a minute of so to load the
user's desktop when logging into terminal server. Can't find anything
specific in the event log, any sugguestion where to look for the cause?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Roget,

Long logon times often depends on DNS problems. Also it can be, that you
are not using Loopback processing for the TS and it now is trying to use
the normal user policies on the TS, which can have a conflict with the TS
policy.

Thanks for the suggestion, Meinolf. However, after further testing, turns
out it is just 1 particular user account that is taking "forever" to load.
Is there anyway to repair a AD user account w/ out remove and rebuild?
Thanks in advance.

Hello Roget,

I think not the account itself is corrupt, i think that will be the user
profile from the server or if you have them relocated to a profile a share
on a server. Where are the profiles stored, specialy for the TS users?

Best regards

Re: Takes a long time to load desktop on terminal server

The "main" profile is store on the local PC, not setup as roaming. This user
only access TS to run certain programs as "thin client". Just tested the
login on the user's local PC, and it still takes roughly 1 minute or 2 for
desktop to load and it's not mapping the network drives per a login script in
the user's AD setup. However, user does seem to have the security access
applied correctly. Thanks again for your help.

Hello Roget168,

Can you post an ipconfig /all from the users workstation and also the DNS
server.
