managing GPO on vista and for vista clients (vista policies)confusion..

I've taken a look at
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window....mspx?mfr=true

But i'm a little confused here.. do i need to copy admx files out to
our 2003 R2 server? If so.. i'm not sure from where i am copying them
either...

On a vista client.. logged in as domain admin.. do i simply run
gpedit.msc and edit the "vista workstation" policy and this will
somehow apply to all Vista boxes in our domain?

Is there a way to use gpmc.msc and create vista policies?

When i run gpmc.msc from the vista box.. it says it is version 1.02 c
2004... Shouldnt it be version 2.0?

Thanks

Nevermind.. i found the files directly under c:\windows..

I also found a nice tool for creating and converting admx files from
this page (near the middle):
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tec.../02/Templates/

Actually.. i created this custom admx file.. made sure it was placed
in the central repository on the sysvol.. it did replicate between
domain controllers.. but when i edit a policy.. i dont see it for some
reason...

**If i copy the admx and adml file to the local store.. gpedit then
shows the new template entry..

Wondering what the purpose of the sysvol one is, if it requires the
file be copied locally anyway?
