Scheduled Task - NTBackup Completion Code 0x20000003

I have a scheduled NTBACKUP task that fails with a completion code of
0x20000003
Does anyone know what this code mean?

It is running on a 2003 Server with SP2, Sony Tape SDX-400C, firmware Rev
0702, Sony tape driver version 3.0.0.1 dated 3/1/07; ntbackup version
5.2.3790.3959 dated 2/17/07;

Have a look at the log file generated by ntbackup.exe.

When I receive this completion code, the NTBACKUP log is empty, blank. The
log file is generated. This is an intermittent problem. I can run NTBACKUP
from the command line (either by the wizard or manual) and have a sucessful
completion. I can run the server's scheduled backup and usually have a
successful completion. When the manually run scheduled task fails, the backup
log shows failed to mount or it will be blank. Deleting and reestablishing
the RSM database fixes this issue and the backup then works.
