Preferred & Alternate DNS?

my client PC which installed with WinXP. I had config that preferred
DNS ip to my DNS server and alternate DNS will be pointing to service
provider's ip. I able to surf the internet but i cant access my DNS
server however i able to ping the DNS server's ip. Is there any
setting nid to b done on my client PC? I was being told by my
supervisor that there's no problem with DNS server setting..

can any1 assist me on this problem?

Change the config and delete the providers ip from the NIC. The internal
DNS server should have configured a forwarder to the providers DNS and your
problems go away.
