Windows Installer folder chocking C:\ druve - Ok to Delete files?

We have Windows 2003 Server that hosts our SMS server. There are no SMS
programs, or applications installed on C.

Now we have a problem where files in the Windows Installer folder
C:\WINDOWS\Installer are causing the servers available hard disk space to
570mb. There are 20GB of of these msp files. Most are from one single date
of December 7th 2006. In fact there are 42 identical files with the same
    size of 466mb.

Can I back them up, and then delte? Or move them to a different partition
on the server? The IIS logs are a 'paltry' 300 MB and I cant foresee having
    to move those just yet.

You could back them up and delete them, but shouldn't. You could move them,
    but shouldn't. See http://www.appdeploy.com/faq/detail.asp?id=84, which
offers a means to see what these are, especially your "42 identical files".
You might really have duplication somehow, but that's not my first thought.

You could get FORFILES, and schedule the command to COMPACT your older logs,
IIS and otherwise. You could run the Disk Cleanup wizard against C:. You
could get Spacemonger from www.werkema.com, and see where your space has
actually gone. You could backup and delete or move the various older $*
directories in your %WINDIR%. Perhaps you could resize the partition, with
    appropriate tools.
