Need Boot Disk to Convert Dynamic to Simple Disk

I have a single Dynamic boot volume that has suddenly started showing as
unrecoverable in Recovery Console. There was a power issue on the system
with this drive, so no doubt either hardware is damaged or there is some
corruption on the disk. Unfortunately my options working with a Dynamic
disk are limited. I have had great success in the past converting such
systems over to a Simple disk by editing the partition table directly, then
using third party utilities or Recovery console to CHKDSK and at least grab
data from the drive. Does anyone know of a third party boot disk that has
a partition editor that will agree to read from and write to a Dynamic disk?
Acronis' Disk Director has such an editor but it refuses to work with
Dynamic drives.

Ideally I would like a bootable CD that can work with dynamic drives
directly.

Boot the machine with a DOS CD (www.bootdisk.com), then run
ptedit.exe. Note that this is an unsupported operation and that data
loss could occur. Make sure to note exactly what you change and
where you change it!

Any chance you have a copy of WinPE? Perhaps that will read the
disk? Can't recall if I've given it a try for such a purpose in the
past of not?

What product are those utilities from? Looks worth adding to the toolkit.

Anything else in that collection worth mentioning?
