| Windows 2003 Server Unexpected Shutdown
Windows 2003 Server with SP1 intermittenly restarts (unexpected Shutdown) about once or twice a week. The server is a HP Proliant DL380 G3. I haven't installed any new hardware or software and have three other (DL380 Win2003 Server sp1) servers that work properly. I check the System event log and the following event occurs: Event ID 1076: Source = User The reason supplied by user Domain\Administrator for the last unexpected shutdown of this computer is: System Failure: Stop error Reason Code: 0x805000f Bug ID: Bugcheck String: 0x0000009c (0x00000000, 0x808a07a0, 0xbe000300, 0x1008081f) Comment: 0x0000009c (0x00000000, 0x808a07a0, 0xbe000300, 0x1008081f) Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, jlm |

Have a look for any other errors in the log. This error is useless since it's the reason provide by the person who log on the server after the reboot. Have a look in the \Hp System Tools->HP Proliant Integrate Management Log Viewer to see if a hardware probleme could cause this reboot. Luc-A, Thanks for the response. I checked HP log viewer and found the following: Description: (BugCheck, Stop: 0x00000009c,0x808a07a0,0xbe000300,0x1008081f) Class: Operating System Severity: Critical Count:1 Any ideas? jlm "Luc-A" wrote: > Have a look for any other errors in the log. well, nothing at first sight! Have a look at www.hp.com under support. It could be a great idea to check both Event Viewer and HP log viewer at the same time and date... the exact time of your last unexpected reboot. You might be able to found error. Think about last hardware, drivers, update or patch you have installed to see if the system stability is been compromise since then. regards, "jlm" wrote: > Luc-A, > > Thanks for the response. The parameters have different meanings depending on what type of CPU you have but, while diagnostic, rarely lead to a clear solution. Most commonly it results from overheating, from failed hardware (RAM, CPU, hardware bus, power supply, etc.), or from pushing hardware beyond its capabilities (e.g., overclocking a CPU). Best wishes! |
