Hardware Management Tool errors

I have a problem with Hardware Management on Windows Server 2003 R2
Enterprise (with all Windows Updates). I can't get it to work.

Before describing the problem, let me explain what my true objective is. I
want to create a demo of the production version of SoftGrid and also a demo
of the SCVMM beta. Both demos need to be on virtual machines as much as
possible. In the case of SoftGrid, the entire demo should be able to be done
with virtual machines. I have a domain controller working in a virtual
machine. SCVMM requires one physical machine, the rest can be virtual. The
point is that I must have Hardware Management running in a virtual machine.

On my standalone R2 physical server that is a domain controller, the
WS-Management service is running just fine. But in a virtual machine (2003 R2
Enterprise with all Windows Updates) in that domain, the following error is
in the Application event log:

The WS-Management service is unable to start because of a failure during
initialization. The error code is 32891.

The System event log shows this warning:

The Subscription WSManSelRg could not be activated on target machine
localhost due to a reachability error. Error Code is 0x0. All retries have
been performed before reaching this point and so the subscription will remain
inactive on this target until subscription is resubmitted / reset.

I made a second virtual machine from scratch. It is 2003 R2 Enterprise with
NO Windows Updates and not joined to a domain. It manifests the following
events:

What needs to be done to achieve success with Hardware Management on a
virtual machine?

After working with Microsoft PSS, the WinRM management service is running in
my problematic virtual machine. Hardware Management was removed, the machine
rebooted, and Hardware Management was installed again. This time it worked.

I'd like to say everything is working, but now there are new SCVMM problems
which are reported in Connect.

Any thoughts on the above?
