Hi Andy, We are using IBM hardware and had the same problem with the memory 3.24 GB with 4 GB mem. I added the /PAE switch and every thing just works fine. the problem lies in the hardware. Not the OS. You can use the /PAE switch but you have to be careful. The kernel memory can not be extend to 2GB max. so stick with 4GB and do not use more. (MS license!) In my case, we have terminal servers (Citrix) if you add more ram in to the servers 6GB or 8GB the kernel memory is the bottleneck here (still 2GB). 64 bit is here the ultimate solution :) If you use it for terminal server usage, do not add any extra mem switches (/3GB etc..) .
