The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Scsi\adpu160m1.

Been having the above error shown in the event viewer every now and
then. Suspect the card -
Adaptec SCSI Card 39160 - Ultra160 SCSI Channel is the culprit.

Anyone faced similar problem before with this card? Currently running
Windows 2003 SE.

Re: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Scsi\adpu160m1.

I've been seeing the following...

"The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk5\D."

New system. Been through two different hard drives. Same thing. Chipset
controller on the MB (hp-ASUS). I've decided it's a driver issue and I
ignore it. All disk checks (vendor and chkdsk) are normal. Never any
incidents at all. Perfect performing machine in every way. I've decided to
totally ignore it.

I suspect that it has something to do with the Adaptec SCSI Card 39160
installed; currently connected to a tape drive unit.Is there a recent
update (months) for this card?

I just see one from June of '05, which I'm sure you've seen. My card is not
an Adaptec. Just ordinary Nvidia GeForce chipset and a SATA drive.

Yes and I had to replace the card.
