| Is there a way to increase partition size without re-installing the OS?
We have a Win 2003 server whose drive C we now deem too small. Is there a way to increase the C partition without re-installing the operating system? |

for other os's there are tools like PowerQuest's PartitionMagic, i don't know off hand if they have one for server 2k3 or not though, but its worth a check. it may also be possible to do a backup from the small disk and restore onto a bigger disk, not all tools will handle that but I have done it on xp and 2kpro with PowerQuest's DriveImage software. some other quick options are to move things like swap files off to another disk. and check for backups of service pack installations, temp files, event and log files, and all that other stuff that can eat up disk space day by day... lots of that can be removed or moved to other disks. I understand that Partition Magic can do this |

No, not on a server OS. You can use a third party tool such as these. http://www.paragon-gmbh.com/ http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/pr.../diskdirector/ Shouldn't be a problem but try asking them here. http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/co...s/request/?t=2 I've used paragon on Windows XP with hardware raid1 |

Does anyone know if these tools work for hardware RAID arrays? |

Yep, the Acronis project works very well with my HP servers (a mix of 5i and 6i controllers). All my OS disks are RAID 1+0 (well HP's version of it anyways) Yes, acronis disk rector works great, though it is expersive, but worth using. I'm using RAID 5, don't break the RAID when you resizing the partitions. Backup and resize directly. |

Never worry about these kinds of problem from now on as I did—Partition Assistant Server Edition can do the best partition job for you. Take the further information through the article: Windows Server 2003 Increase C Drive Become Imperative for Computer Performance. It gives a bright method to finish all kinds of partition operations as you expected. |
