| convert local profile to network roaming profile
I have several users that I have upgraded their machine to xp pro and joined the network. I have also created their network login. I am setting up their roaming profile and redirected documents. How can I easily and efficiently transfer their files and settings into this new profile. I also need to transfer their eMail and account settings into their new profile. With SBS2003 I am able to create a profile and "assign" it to a current local profile to copy. Is there tool or trick that will do this sort of thing in Windows 2003? |

| RE: convert local profile to network roaming profile
On a small number of users I would say the best technique is to use the local profile copy feature on a workstation. Ask the user to login with their new network account to the workstation they were using with a "local account" that has the source profile. Once they have logged in and out again you login and copy the profile over user the system/advanced/profiles feature. If you have a lot of users then maybe a better solution would be creating a script with robocopy resource kit tool.
