| RIS help needed regarding RIPREP and OEM Broadcom NIC drivers
Windows Server 2003 RIS is installed and working on my server. I have created 5 basic windows xp pro sp2 images with the nic, video, and audio drivers integrated into it and they are working awesome when I install the image on a hp sff pc via pxe boot. So I understand how to integrate the drivers and how they work with this process. These installs work great. The HP machines are mainly using the Broadcom drivers only. Here is the issue. Now I want to install additional software on these machines and then run RIPREP so I can deploy them to 100 other hp sff machines that have the same exact HAL. When I run RIPREP on the machine it works fine, being that it copies the RIPREP image to the server. Now when I try to plug a brand new hp machine I get to where I can select my image to install, then after a couple of minutes I get the error that the device cannot be detected basically to install my driver. I'm trying to see where I have to input the drivers for my broadcom nic driver to load these 100 pcs quickly w/ office, adobe reader, antivirus, etc. I know it can be done, I just haven't had luck and every article jalls just short of getting into the exact details. I have read over every basic and non-descriptive bland microsoft kb article regarding how to get RIPREP to work with a OEM nic driver, but it does not work. For the majority of their articles it explains how to get it to work for SYSPREP. I'm asking for some advanced assistance as I have browsed many articlets and figure I would post as the techs. here have seen this. Thank you in advance. |

Did you place the broadcom NIC driver files in both the Riprep and the Risetup (flat) image's i386 folders? If they aren't in both, they don't work properly. Also, broadcom NICs are notorious for not working properly in RIS, and you may have to do some .inf surgery to make it work. http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversio...hp/t38990.html "digital777" <u27110@uwe> wrote in message news:66d45094b895d@uwe... > Windows Server 2003 RIS is installed and working on my server. > > I have created 5 basic windows xp pro sp2 images with the nic, video, and > audio drivers integrated into it and they are working awesome when I > install > the image on a hp sff pc via pxe boot.
