    Unable to browse network neighbourhood in a Windows 2003 environme

    Unable to browse network neighbourhood in a Windows 2003 environment from
    secondary subnet.

    shows:-

    You might not have permission to use this network resource.
    The list of servers for this workgroup is currently unavailable

    We are not running WINS. All servers have teamed fail on fault config.

    Network browsing works from main subnet where the master browser is.

    Have tried browstat stuff (from MS Articles) and servers on the secondary
    subnet report

    browstat status shows:-

    Status for domain <domain> on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{75B444DA-C019-4E
    D8-8A71-B9F5ACED78C3}
    Browsing is NOT active on domain. Status : 6118
    Master name cannot be determined from GetAdapterStatus.

    Status for domain <domain> on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{9FD4D28F-D285-4B
    67-9403-4869775DA27D}
    Browsing is NOT active on domain. Status : 6118
    Master name cannot be determined from GetAdapterStatus.

    We noticed the other day that the master browser was on behind a firewall.
    This has been rectified and the master broweser is now a DC (PDC Emulator) in
    primary subnet. We left it a few days expecting it to sort itself out but no
    joy.

    Netbios over TCP/IP is set to default. Server have static IP addresses.

    Event log shows

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: BROWSER
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 8032
    Date: 21/06/2006
    Time: 13:24:54
    User: N/A
    Computer: <computer>
    Description:
    The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on
    transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{75B444DA-C019-4ED8-8A71-B9F5ACED78C3}. The
    backup browser is stopping.

    Any help will be gratefully received.

    You need a WINS server with multiple subnets.
