| The application failed to initialize properly 0xc0150004
I'm having a problem with a Windows Storage Server 2003 system. I had to run a chkdsk on the C: drive of this system to correct some errors. The Chkdsk ran fine, but now when I log into the system I get several these errors when trying to run many applications. The error is: " The application failed to initialize properyl (0xc0150004). Click on OK to terminate the application." This happens when trying to run any MMC console application. I found a knowledge base article (KB902400) which is similar but has a different error code. This refers to a problem with Access Control List permissions on the %windir%\registration directory. I think my problem may be a permissions issue, but I have taken all the resolution steps outlined in the KB article and I still have the problem. The reason I think my problem is also a permissions issue is because when I go to the properties of any folder, there is no security tab listed. (I have tried logging in as both the domain administrator, and the local administrator) Help! Thanks, Carl Thoreson |
