Hello ,
After installing banth of Patches my Windows 2003 server could not run the
Task Scheduler service. it is suck at Starting state.
Here is what i have tried allready:
1) Killing the process and restarting the service.
2) reboot
3) Uninstall all the Patches i have installed earlier.
4) delete the file SchedLgU.Txt and create a new one.
Nothing helped so far does anyone have any idea what else i can do ?

Re: Task Scheduler service is on STARTING STATE

Is the 'Remote Procedure Call (RPC)' service running?

You might try from a command prompt;
sc query "Schedule"

to see what win32 exit code is generated.

RE: Task Scheduler service is on STARTING STATE

Ok so this is how MS support center help me to solve the problem:
first he went for the Permission for the schedlog.txt file but we saw that
the local system has full control on it.
here is the 2nd communication:
Hi Moshe,

Unfortunately, all troubleshooting steps mentioned in my previous eMail
didn't fix your problem.
As a last chance, please try the following both suggestions:
Extarct the attached Fix.zipa (password: 123456) and run the command
SysTaskFix -fix.
Install mstask.inf (but first uninstall the hot fix Q843280):
System may ask for addditional MStask file, extract all requested files from
original Win 2k3 CD MStask.ini and additional Mstask files were place in a
separate folder and mstask.inf was run within the folder
- Reboot (to replace mstask.dll)
- This will replace the Account in the task credentials
- Confirm/reapply the password again for every task (not sure if this
necessary)
- Install again hot fix Q843280.
"
Thanks dave for your support

I got the same problem as you but how can I get the fix from MS? I've gone
through the kB but can't find anything similar. Can't quote the kb to ask for
the fix.

Thanks.
