| DNS Error 4000 and 4013
are connected via IPSEC tunnel using WatchGuard Firebox x500. I have been having AD replication problems and have discarded the Firewall because i am passing all traffic thru the tunnel and have extensively troubleshot with WatchGuard tech support. Site A has Windows 2003 domain controller with DNS running and Site B has a second Windows 2003 server with DNS running on it. Yesterday i was trying to add on Site B a reverse zone and apparently in the process i wiped out my DNS entire configuration. When i came in this morning i tried to add a zone and i get numerous errors even attempting to add a zone. When i look in the event viewer error "4000" and "4013" repeat every 10 to 12 minutes constantly. What can i do? -- Juan Pineyro |

Yes i am getting a lot of errors but they mostly repeat. I will copy and paste some of them: ID13508 in the FRS Log: "The File Replication Service is having trouble enabling replication from ARISTAR-DC to ARISTAR-SALES for c:\windows\sysvol\domain using the DNS name aristar-dc.Aristar.local. FRS will keep retrying. Following are some of the reasons you would see this warning. [1] FRS can not correctly resolve the DNS name aristar-dc.Aristar.local from this computer. [2] FRS is not running on aristar-dc.Aristar.local. [3] The topology information in the Active Directory for this replica has not yet replicated to all the Domain Controllers. This event log message will appear once per connection, After the problem is fixed you will see another event log message indicating that the connection has been established." Directory Service Log: Event ID 1104 Event ID 1864 Event ID 2093 I can paste the verbose from the logs if you need me too. I am thinking about trying the steps i read in this article, http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/...088/46088.html -- Juan Pineyro "Juan" wrote: > Hi, i have a Windows 2003 AD with two sites under the same domain. Yes onn the Directory Service log: Event ID 1104 Event ID1864 Event ID 2093 Event ID 1586 FRS Log: 13508 I can attach the verbose from the event id's if you want but i thought it might get too lengthy. I read the followin document and i am thinking of trying it:http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/...088/46088.html -- Juan Pineyro "Kevin D.
