The WMI Performance Adapter service repeated event log entries

Hello,

We have a Windows 2003 Server that continually gets the following event log
messages:

11/17/2004 6:37:26 AM Service Control Manager 7035 <MACHINE NAME> NT
AUTHORITY\SYSTEM 54568 The WMI Performance Adapter service was successfully
sent a start control.
11/17/2004 6:37:26 AM Service Control Manager 7036 <MACHINE NAME> 54569 The
WMI Performance Adapter service entered the running state.
11/17/2004 6:37:26 AM Service Control Manager 7036 <MACHINE NAME> 54570 The
WMI Performance Adapter service entered the stopped state.

Is there some way to get rid of these? They seem to be merely informative,
but they occur roughly every 30 seconds and fill up the logs. Can I simply
disable this service, and if I do, will it stay disabled?

Re: The WMI Performance Adapter service repeated event log entries

You are logging the events because some application is using WMI to monitor
performance. I think MOM performance data is pulled via WMI so you'll see
this when using MOM's performance collections. Off hand, I know SPA uses
WMI queries as well as some SQL and Exchange monitoring tools.

Hello,

It does have Oracle installed on it, yes.
