    Hello HawleyBeach,

Please post also the id from the event viewer and the source. There are a

There are several events of this type, if you will post the full details of
the event it will help diagnose the issue.

Even I need some help regarding the same, in my case I am have been facing a no of strange network problems and there are a no of Application Event Log entries:
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Userenv
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1053
    Date: 4/23/2010
    Time: 8:54:54 AM
    User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
    Computer: SERVER04
    Description:
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (The RPC server is unavailable. ). Group Policy processing aborted.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
The problem that I am facing are as followed:
    • I am not able to print to some of the networked printer, some of them are working fine and I am not having any issues with them.
    • I am not able to see the site that is hosted on remote server which are connected through VPN tunnel
    • I am not able to surf as well as establish new VPN connection, when I am trying to do so then It is returning error "The RPC Server is unavailable"

Is there anyone who has an idea about all this and can help me out???? Any help regarding this will be highly appreciated.

Before I suggest you something about the same I just wanted to know the below things:

    • Are you getting any error message as you have mentioned that you are not able to print to some of the networked printer?

    • Are you getting any error message when you are stopped from viewing the site that is hosted on remote server? Are you having any issues in doing PING/access resources on the VPN server?

    • As you are not able to surf as well as establish new VPN connection, I wanted to know that what is the destination for establishing a RDP session in your case??

Just answer me the requested questions so that I can have a better idea of the issue that you are facing and will try to help you out with the same.
