Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. Event ID 1053

Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (Not enough storage is
available to complete this operation. ). Group Policy processing aborted.

I get this error about once a week. When I get it I am unable to login
remotely via RDP nor can I browse the server. I have to reboot it. I have
rebuilt this server twice now and still encounter the same problem. I have
ftp running through IIS 6 and MailEnable. Any ideas to the cause? Hardware?
    Software?

You need to dig it more:

The issue may caused by various situations:

Users belonging to more than 70-80 groups fail to authenticate. This shows
up as failing to get Group Policy, Outlook, and other situations requiring
    authentication.

    or

    1. reduce the number of running programs
    2. remove unwanted files from the disk the Paging File is on and restart the
    system
    3. check the paging file disk for an I/O error
    4. install additional memory in your system."

    Is it a domain controller???

Configure and review userenv log to diagnose:

Enable the userenv log from this link:

    http://technet2.microsoft.com/window....mspx?mfr=true

    Review the log as per:

    http://technet2.microsoft.com/window....mspx?mfr=true

I have checked about the same and I have found that the above error message whenever one tries to use Gpupdate /force command or restart a Windows Server 2003-based domain controller, anyways for solving this out just perform the below solution.
    • First go to start and then click on run and then type “regedit” without the quotes and then click on ok, now just check out for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\Kerberos\Parameters and if it is not having Parameters then click on this HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\Kerberos registry subkey and then on the Edit menu just click on New and after that click on Key and then enter the Parameters and then hit enter.

    • Now when you are done with the same then click on the Parameters key and then click on new and then on Edit and then click on the DWORD Value, after that Type “MaxTokenSize” without the quotes and then hit enter.

    • After that Right-click MaxTokenSize and chose the Modify option and then type 65535 in the Value data box and then click on Decimal and then on ok.

    • Check out for the this registry subkey - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters and then On the Edit menu again click on New and then on DWORD Value and then Type “MaxTokenSize” without the quotes and then hit enter, now type a value between 5000 and 65534 in the Value data box and then click on Decimal and then on ok.
    • When you are done with all this then just Exit Registry Editor and reboot the system and you are done.

just try out the same and let then let me know if you have any further queries, just feel free to ask.
