"Printer driver not installed. The specified colour profile is invalid"?

Trying to install a HP DeskJet 3820 printer onto a 2003 server. The
driver doesnt appear on the list of printer drivers that comes with
windows. We used a driver downloaded from HP.com and towards the end of
the driver install we get the following message:

"Printer driver not installed. The specified colour profile is
    invalid".

There is no driver on hp's website for server 2003 and I cant find a
great deal of info by googling. Can anyone help?

I had the same problem and found that my icm32.dll had been deleted from
the C:\windows\system32 files. As soon as I replaced it from my service
pack files the problem was fixed.

I just resolved Jan 2011 the same problem with Epson techs on a new Printer/scanner NX415 that produced the same error message from Hardware wizard every time I tried to install into an XPpro SP3 system and even after I had succeeded installing the unit and it was turned on. I found the file icm32.dll at four locations using Search after reading kjelliott post, and on the advice of an advanced tech at Epson we copied one of the files and then pasted into System 32. Voila the error messages disappeared and the unit appears to work as it should. Suspect the problem is a glitch in some printer hardware installation CD's not accessing correct file or loading an incorrect file into System 32. The icm32.dll in my system32 had "0" bytes - discovered on the attempt to paste and being asked if we wanted to replace that with "one that had teeth in it" (my words) which of course we did.

The same unit installed on a Windows 7 system without problems - however the CD was not used - the drivers were downloaded from Epson website.
