    2008 backup vs 2008R2 backup

    Hi
Windows backup for 2008 seems to be different from 2008R2.
In 2008 I cannot select which folders/files I want to backup (in R2 I can)
Is it just the GUI that is better in R2?
Can I somehow with through commands or powershell exclude a folder in 2008
backup or do I always have to backup the whole volume?

    Tomppa

    Hello Tomppa,

This is a change with Windows server 2008 R2. You can't exclude folders with
    Windows server 2008 backup.

I was afraid of that. Is it not even possible to exlude folders with
    commands or scripts?

Re: 2008 backup vs 2008R2 backup

I personally not so in for wsb no matter in Windows 2008 or 2008 r2. It is true windows make improvements in Windows Server 2008 r2. But i still see a people complaining WSB: errors happens of no reason, sometimes won't allow you to do what you want.
So i can hardly put my faith on the backup tool. Now, still i can't understand why Microsoft develops this tool, while in fact, it is not powerful, great.
Server is important. IF your business depends on it, try some reliable backup kit.
    thx
