Folder Permissions

Is it possible to list all the folders in a folder and write to those folders without giving users the permission to view the contents of the folders that they write to? If so what are the permissions to use. I can get it so that the users can not open any of the files within the folders but would like for them not to be able to even see inside the folders?

Help very frustrated!

This would be deny read to the folder but you will run into problems with things
like Word which will "read" the folder before saving a document to make sure the
filename is not in use.
