DNS Scavenge not removing stale DNS records

I have two Windows Server 2003 DCs that run DNS.

I have noticed a bunch of "stale" DNS records (old machine names with an IP
address the conflicts with another machine name using that same IP address).

How do I clean them out (without "manually" going through DNS... too many
duplicate records to clean up)? Is there a script or something that I can
use??

I tried to manually run the scavenge from the DNS console. I also enabled
my DNS zone for automatic scavenging, and used the default which is after 7
days.

When I run the scavenge manually, none of the stale DNS records get deleted.
This MS KB article describes what happens.

Thanks for any help.

Hello Tim,

Did you follow the article to wait?

Also see here about:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...41(WS.10).aspx

Or if you have a MS DHCP server use this way:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...34(WS.10).aspx

Thanks - i read those and can't really find anything that looks like it's
setup wrong. Any suggestions on things I could try for testing? The
eventlog doesn't really show any errors, just the one "informational" event
2502 that I talked about in the first post.
