The server is Windows is Server 2008 Enterprise X64 with Hyper-v role
enabled. No additional applications/roles/features enabled.
I had made a previous post here, entitled Windows Server Backup Failing. The
problem has gotten worse. It started with:
"I've been having issues recently attempting to do full backup on one of my
servers. While the C:\ backup as soon as the second partition starts, and
the backup fails with error
2155348010 (One of the backup files could not be created.). Please rerun
backup once issue is resolved."
and now when I try to backup it goes as far as "Creating the shadow copy of
volumes requested for backup" and stops with summary saying:
"Backup stopped before completing.
Detailed Error:
ERROR - The shared restore point operation failed with error (0x81000101)
The creation of a shadow copy has timed out. Try again this operation.
Timed out before the shared protection point was created."
I was hoping someone might have an idea why backups aren't worknig on this
server.
Initially I was deploying the wbadmin through Altiris to run on the server.
I then tried setting it up as a task within the server removing Altiris from
the situation with the same result.
