Missing VSS writers from "vssadmin list writers"

Upon coming across the errors on VSS 'Microsoft Exchange Writer' below (note
there are 2 entries for 'Microsoft Exchange Writer)

and restarting Exchange, Backup application, VSS and VSPRV services made no
difference

Next is to apply the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940184 to
clean up any consistency; unfortunately after having done all the steps in
KB940184,
"vssadmin list writers" produced fewer writers as below where application
writers such as SQL, Exchange failed to register

There seems to have a procedure to re-register COM+ but I couldn't find
procedures for others

Somehow, it was successful to re-create the missing Exchange writers by
re-doing the steps in KB940184 with miminal number of running applications
esp Exchange
