I have a server running Windows Server 2008 and a third-party ftp service.
This server is publicly accessible, so I would like to lock it down as much
as possible.
Since all it's doing is hosting ftp files, there's no need for it to have
the Client for Microsoft Networks and other traditional network services
enabled on this server.
One problem I have is with running backups for this server. If I use
Windows Server Backup I will need to access a share on another server to
backup all drives.
I'd like to enable Client for Microsoft Networks from a command-line long
enough to map a drive and complete a backup to another server, then disable
it again at the end of the process.
Any suggestions on a method to toggle enable/disable of Client for Microsoft
Networks from a command-line or script would be appreciated.
