Missing AAAA records
I've been experiencing some serious network problems lately. For this I ran a dcdiag /test:dns on one DC and go the results below. I just dont know what "Warning: The AAAA record for this DC was not found" warnings on network adapter actually mean. Could someone here explain? (For background info. we have one win2003r2 DC on 172.20.1.22 and one Win2008SP1 DC on 172.20.1.24 which is the tested machine) Directory Server Diagnosis Performing initial setup: Trying to find home server... Re: Missing AAAA records
Too late for you, I guess, but in case others need this info: Per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...5(WS.10).aspx: So that other member servers and domain controllers in the domain or forest can locate this domain controller as a writeable global catalog server in the forest, the DNS A or AAAA records that point from the server's host name to its IP address or addresses must be registered by the domain controller Locator (DC Locator). That webpage has a few procedures about fixing it too. |
