How to enter device CAL in Windows Server 2008 Standard

    Hi,

Just installed Windows Server 2008 Standard for the first time, and I'm looking
all over and I can't figure out how to enter device and user CALs.

I don't see the Licensing Service that 2003 Server had. When I search Help, the
only references to CALs that I find are Terminal Server CALs... but this server
is not being used as a terminal server....

So.... I'm confused. Probably something silly that I'm overlooking....

    Please help?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello mark@no.spam,

No need for this. You just must have the correct amount of licenses available.
If you are talking about Terminal server licenses then you have to install
    the TS licensing server.
The old licensing service did never worked as expected and all admin i know
have stopped and disabled the service under 2000 and 2003.

    Best regards

    Thanks for your reply.

Interesting. I thought what with genuine advantage and validation checks,
licensing would get MORE intrusive, not less. Oh well...
