    windows server 2003 generic host process/svchost problem

    Hi guys,
    everytime I login I get a popup error, a log entry and several automatic
    services are dropped. This occurs on 8 different windows 2003 srv (std sp1
    and ent R2)

    Automatic services stopped:

    Application Experience Lookup service
    Automatic updates
    Cryptographic services
    Distributed link tracking client
    logical disk manager
    Secondary logon
    Shell hardware detection
    lanmanserver
    Workstation

    This is the error in the event viewer:

    Tipo evento: Errore
    Origine evento: Application Error
    Categoria evento: (100)
    ID evento: 1000
    Data: 24/11/2008
    Ora: 17.22.47
    Utente: N/D
    Computer: SERVER4
    Descrizione:
    Applicazione che ha provocato l'errore svchost.exe, versione 5.2.3790.1830,
    modulo che ha provocato l'errore kernel32.dll, versione 5.2.3790.2919,
    indirizzo errore 0x0010568c.

    Hello Luca,

    See the answer in microsoft.public.windows.server.active_directory and use
    crossposting with a newsreader like Outlook express instead of multiposting.

    ok Meinolf, u are right! The first message was born from my desperation ;-)
    This second is in the right discussion group and perhaps explained better.

    I am having the same issue.

    Have you come up with a solution yet?
    Also, are you running trend office scan?
