Server 2008 does not allow remote connections

I'm trying to RDC into a new server 2008. There are a few advanced rdc
options none of which work: (RDP RDC whatever)

ERROR IS (when Use TS Gateway is selected):
"The computer can't connect to the remote computer because the Terminal
Services Gateway server address is unreachable or incorrerct."
Error IS (When no gateway is selected)
The computer can't connect to the remote computer.
ERROR IS (When Auto is selected)
The computer can't connect to the remote computer.

    Specs:
Windows Server 2008 running SQL 2005 (both Ent) in an SBS 2003 R2 domain.
Both are Dual Processor 4Gig on domain and 8Gig on SQL Server (2008)
machine. Also of note, Server 2008 is not a terminal server or at least not
    setup to be one.

Server 2008 is a fresh install.

User is myself, domain administrator (a novice domain administrator at that)

Would be happy if I could remote into the server so that I didn't need to
stand up in a cramped closet trying to type and search and install but
instead could sit in a nice comfortable office chair while remoting into the
    domain.
