Hyper-V

I copied virtual disk (.vhd) to another location and crated new Virtual
machine and connected it to the copied disk. The vhd had Windows 2003
installed and after the start of new machine I got Local area connection
3. The original vhd had Static IP number and it had local area
connection. Hot change it? The settings are exact the same.

Another question how to change the SID of the new virtual server 2003?

To change the SID you have to run sysprep, included in the 2003 installation
disk support\tools\deploy.cab

Tanks.
To change SID on Servers I was always using Symantec Ghostwalker but I
can not boot Hyper-V virual machine from bootable Ghost CD.

I could not find answer to my problem about Local Area connection 3,4,5
etc... there

That is how it works in a physical machine as well. If you put a new NIC
in a machine it gives it a new name and it won't let you use the same IP
address because that is associated with the "old" NIC.

When you create a new vm from the existing vhd the NIC will not have
the same MAC address as the old vm used. The OS sees it as a new NIC.

Well, you actually can use the NIC, you just have an extra prompt to get
through.

Correct. It warns you that the IP is already assigned to another NIC but
allows you to use it again.

So how to deal witch the host server crash. When host server will crash
I want to copy disk file to another host server but have the same
settings, The same MAc etc...
