| Win 2008 Firewall with DFSR using a static port Query
Hi, I'm adding a Win 2008 fileserver and want to add it to the existing W2003 R2 servers hosting dfs shares with replication. Trying to add 1 test share at present. We use static port 49154 for DFSR comms. I can set the service to use the port and the W2008 logs show this is in use. All DFS management tools work from both ends (old 2003 and new 2008) but the W2003 box shows DFSR 5002 errors with 1753 'no more endpoints' trying to initialise the new replication group. I've attempted disabling the standard W2008 'DFS Replication (RPC-In)' rule which as a default can't be edited then adding a new one so the 49154 port can be specified for the dfsr service - with no success. The firewall log shows no dropped connections.. Query: What exactly needs to be changed/added on the firewall to acomodate using a stiac port for DFSR? TIA, PC |
